Yellowstone Photo Workshops focuses on giving small groups of dedicated photographers individual attention. Primarily we offer completely equipped horse trips into the wilderness areas in and around Yellowstone National Park. All you need to bring is your camera equipment, sleeping bag, and toiletries.

We use only an elite group of Wyoming licensed outfitters with an intimate knowledge of the area. Big cowboy breakfasts and hearty western style suppers cooked in camp, while lunches are usually prepared to be portable and eaten in the field. Evenings around the camp’s fire are spent reminiscing the day’s activity and discussing photographic techniques.

Each trip is accompanied by a working professional photographer with the expertise to answer your questions on location and help you attain the most photographically from the area.

The workshop’s founder J. L. “Woody” Wooden, has a B.A. and M.S. from Brooks Institute of Photography. He has over 30 years of commercial photographic experience and teaching. He is currently on faculty at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming. “My goal is to show you areas of Wyoming that only a select few have seen. Areas that will give you a sense of the magnitude of beauty. The special places that made me fall in love with Wyoming.”
